In the dying moments, unbridled joy broke out for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a last-gasp equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and handed the temporary Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane represented the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch in class, making the memory of Fernández's crucial intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Stark Contrast in Experience

On the City bench was the most decorated manager of his time, a man with four decades of silverware for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the opposite technical area, stood a former coach at lower-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had served in City's own academy and arrived to make his first-team debut after being seconded from his regular role guiding Chelsea's youth teams.
